Description Edit | History

Solitaire game of tank command. You control your Sherman tank (17 variations) and crew. Move into a new territory and deal with what you encounter. You will need to manage your crew's actions, your tank's facing, and attempt to take out enemy forces without losing your tank. Combat system is abstracted to not take place on a map, but rather on a sector grid, with positions and movement abstracted to only change in how they relate to your tank.

6 Patton's Best Variant - It was Only the Wind...
It was Only the Wind... Adding Dummy Markers to Patton's Best is a variant I wrote that adds more uncertainty to the identification of enemy units on the Battle Board. A few markers (blank counters, buttons, chips, or coins, for example) will be needed in addition to the game components to play this variant.

16 Patton's Best Variant - Late-Model Soviet T-34's
I was reading a book about Soviet tank crews and started to wonder how hard it would be to add new units to "Patton's Best". The answer turned out to be "not as bad as I feared" although this is very much a work in progress. Included are cards for a T-34/76 Model 1943 and a T-34/85 Model 1944 as well as the necessary rules & tables to play with them. My knowledge of the T-34 is limited to seeing museum pieces & reading books, so I tried to list my assumptions as much as possible. Nothing seems too unreasonable, I hope. Comments and suggestions are more than welcome. I could certainly use the help... On a side note, I wasn't sure whether including top and profile images of the tank here would violate any copyrights so my cards include only shaded place holders instead of...

11 Top-Down 1
I decided to upgrade the vehicle counters and include damage graphics. Top-Down files 1-4 = front counters and 5-7 = rear counters. The excellent original top-down graphics were done by Dirk Schoenberger http://www.juniorgeneral.org/index.html
