Description

[Edit] [History]

Players seek to build a collection of districts worth from one to eight points. Once someone's built eight districts, then the game is over after that round ends and the player with the highest total value wins. However to facilitate the process (and make the game interesting), players sequentially choose a character from a rapidly dwindling pool of eight each turn. The characters give players special abilities for the turn.

Expanded by:

  • Citadels: The Dark City Expansion (the Hans im Glück tin box and the newer Fantasy Flight and editions come with the expansion included. With this version, or the Dark City expansion purchased separately, this game can take 2 to 8 players)

6 Citadels Standard Roles - Card size - Revised
CitadelsCheatSheetRevised.doc
These are the same role cards that Tim Pelletier uploaded (with the help of Josh Street's playing mats), but with some changes... 1) The words now have white behind them instead of blue. It makes it MUCH easier to read due to its size when printed. 2) I changed the background of the artwork to a lighter color to make the artwork stand out better. 3) I put the cards closer together to make cutting easier. If your printer cuts off the top or bottom card, adjust the top or bottom margins OR move the pictures so there are 2 cards per page. These can be laminated as Tim suggested.
4 Citadels Standard Roles - Card size for laminating
CitadelsCheatSheet.doc
I took the player mat that Josh Street had uploaded, cut off just the standard roles and descriptions and scaled it down to card size. My wife and I printed this document, laminated it, and cut it into cards. One 8 1/2 by 11 sheet holds enough for three cards. When cut up, the cards easily fit into the Citadels box. They work great and really help new Citadel players!! Enjoy! And thanks to Josh Street for the great playmat that made it possible!
