Gauss (2009)

A small game designed by Susumu Kawasaki.

A game for two players, Gauss: The Magnetic Duel is played on a small hexagonal grid.

Each player has a set fifteen tokens: ten in their color and five in the opposite color. Player take turns and each player may place one token per turn.

Like the poles of a magnet, tokens of opposite color are attracted to each other whereas tokens of like color are repelled by each other.

You score points if you connect 4 or more discs of your colour.

The first edition of this game was published in the catalog of Game Market 2009. It included a monochrome paper game board only. Like the games produced by Cheapass Games, players of the first edition are required to provide their own pieces.

The second edition was published by Kawasaki Factory and Japon Brand. It includes a color version of the game board and a full set of game pieces.

The third edition has been published by nestorgames in a portable format. It includes a cotton case, rubber flexible board and laser-cut acrylic discs.
