King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table is two games in one. First you play the quest game to build your army and improve your knight. Then the game proceeds to the civil war where the fight to be the heir to the throne begins. Elements of role playing are involved as your knight has statistics which can improve during the game and various pieces of equipment can be bought. The game also includes jousting tournaments in which the winner can earn money and honor.
The criticism of the combat system is that many, many rounds of die rolling are needed to resolve a combat. While other patches have been proposed I have used conditional probability based on the in-game attack and defence values to create a table scaled to a single d10 roll but which gives results similar to the designers intent.
Each participant in a combat finds their "to hit" roll and each round can roll just one d10 to replace the two d100 rolls typically needed.
For those who want combats to resolve more quickly I have added a bonus table giving the three round probability that at least one attack would succeed. This table leads to shorter, bloodier fights.
Version 0.2 fixes a small typo in the directions.
