Kazaam Dice (2009)

Master Ambrosius wanders around his vast home, observing his apprentices with satisfaction. He smiles, seeing how hard they work, calling into being new homunculi and performing daring alchemical experiments. As soon as the doors close behind the dignified alchemist, however, a ruthless competition begins between the younger adepts of the Art. They compete for ingredients, formulas and secrets. The homunculi belonging to the apprentices run around the whole abode, performing pressing tasks in a fight for the title of the best alchemist of their generation.

Kazaam Dice is a dynamic dice game for 2-4 players, taking on the roles of young alchemists. By strategically using their slim resources, they are trying to succeed in their own experiments and interfere with their enemies' plans at the same time. The young alchemists in Master Ambrosius's laboratory are busy again - and this time they have many little helpers. In Kazaam Dice, the players need some luck in rolling and some strategical thinking in placing the homunculi dice of which there are 32 in the game. These 6-sided dice are special in that way that they depict on each side one of the six different, newly designed, full-colour homunculi. The same images can be found on the board game where the dice may be placed or moved after rolling.

Master Ambrosius keeps wandering around the chamber observing the doings of his former pupils, stopping here and there. Unfortunately this leads to his blocking the way for the homunculi rushing through the laboratory in order to fulfil their masters’ wishes. The figure of Master Ambrosius therefore is an extra component in the game which can be used to hinder an opponent’s progress by blocking a square and cutting off his path.
