Mech War '77 is a simulation of tactical combat in West Germany and Asia during the 1970's. The game is played by scenario. Eight scenarios revolve around a hypothetical Soviet-American clash in West Germany. One scenario is drawn from the Yom Kippur War. The tenth scenario pictures a Sino-Soviet clash.
Scale: Each hex represents 200 meters from side to side.
Time: Each Game-Turn represent one to six minutes of elapsed time.
Uses the same rules system (but with additional "modern" elements) as Panzer '44
The ideas that took to the creation of this sheet of additional counters are several.
First there were no Italians and I created them. Then to use them in an Italian own scenario I created the counters required by a desant unit, that's to say Russian Paratrooper's and enough of their vehicles, that's to say the BMDs and enough ASU-85 (Spat in the standard counters) to allow you to field enough of the 31 ASU-85 of the assault gun battalion that was in force to each Airborne Division.
After my developments, there were no counters for the East Germany rebels, so I made them. There wasn't enough Chinese T-55 for the published scenario so I made the counters for the Chinese TYPE 59 tank. Then, for the North Korean scenario, there wasn't enough Chinese Infantry counters so I created them....
