Chocolatl (2010)

Chocolatl is a game based on the fascinating history of the Aztecs, the legend of Quetzalquatl (=Chocolatl) and of course, Cacao: the fruit of the gods.

Each player starts the game with an identical deck of numbered bidding cards, which they will use to blind bid at 6 different board locations each turn. Each board location will gain you a certain benefit, ranging from scoring points, to upgrading you bidding deck, to allowing you to alter your blind bids. In addition, the type of blind bidding may vary from round to round depending on the leader's position on the score track. Some rounds you may bid all 12 of your cards on the 6 locations (2 cards per location) all simultaneously, others you may do each location one at a time, and others you may bid one card at each location, reveal them, and then bid the rest of your cards once you've seen everyone's first bids.

In the end, the player that is able to outguess his opponents and best manage his cocoa sacrifices will win the game!

There will be two versions of Chocolatl, both of which are developed by Quined Games.

The Master Print version:
- will have different box art (but the same contents) and a number "6"
- will have a Dutch, English, German and French manual
- will be produced by Quined Games and will not be sold in shops outside the Benelux (since Huch & Friends owns the rights for all other countries except for the Benelux; distribution is done by Boosterbox for the Netherlands and Intrafin for Belgium and Luxembourg)
- can only be preordered/bought by customers outside Benelux via our website or email adress (francobollus@gmail.com)
- total production number is 500 copies

The international version:
- will have its own box art
- will have a Dutch, English, German and French manual
- will not be sold in shops inside the Benelux
- will be produced and distributed by Huch and Friends. For more info about where (which countries) to buy the game, I refer to them

Chocolatl is language independant, and the shop price will be 29.95 euros.
