Ahoy mates! As an upstanding member of the pirate community, yer goal be to gain fame and fortune, aye, but mostly fortune! To amass wealth, ye must go on the account and join a pirate crew. Working together, you will embark on voyages of great danger. Or if ye be lucky, yer captain will have a map to untold treasures that can be unearthed with just a few tools o' the trade. So be prepared and beware! Yer mates cannot always be trusted, nor can that blasted lubber.
Perhaps ye have the pluck to be captain yourself? Captains gain a large share o' the treasure, but beware a mutinous crew! Eventually, you may become so famous that ye retire to enjoy yer legitimately acquired riches. But if some young scallywag flaunts more riches than ye, ye will fade into pirate obscurity!
In Cutthroats!, players take on the role of a crew of pirates. Each turn one player is voted Captain and a voyage is selected from the six available. Working together and using the tools they have purchased and their crew abilities, the crew attempts to defeat each voyage and gain reputation and doubloons! When a player reaches the rank of Pirate King, all retire from a life at sea. But the pirate with the most loot is the ultimate winner, so watch that reputation track carefully and decide when the time is right for treachery!
