This expansion provided the following models (the "new one" having special restrictions):
- 4 Beastmen units (4x bases + 20x Beastmen)
- 2 Ogre Champion units (2x bases + 2x Ogre Champions)
- 2 Chaos Lord units (2x bases + 2x Champion Horses + 2x Champion Riders)
The "new" unit is the Chaos Lord. He is a singular Champion of Chaos model that rolls 5 combat dice, but only has one "hit point".
No additional cards are added to the original Battle Masters deck. Chaos Lords piggy-back on Champions of Chaos cards, and the others move along with their designated troop movement cards.
The game's instructions suggest that adding an Imperial Lords expansion to the Imperial Army, and a Chaos Warband expansion to the Hordes of Chaos (1 Mighty Cannon unit, 1 Men-At-Arms unit, 1 Imperial Knights unit, 1 Crossbow Unit, 2 Imperial Archer units, and 1 "Imperial Lord" unit) equal the advantages.
Also, the instructions explain a "point system" method for setting up alternative Battle Masters games.
Using these rules, players agree on a "point total" (example: 72), and then spend the corresponding number of points to place each unit, careful not to exceed the "point total":
Chaos Army: Goblins(4), Beastmen (4), Bowmen (4), Orcs (5), Chaos Warriors (5), Wolf Riders (5), Ogre Champion (8), Champions of Chaos (9), Chaos Lord* (8)
Imperial Army: Men-At-Arms (4), Crossbowmen (5), Archers (6), Imperial Knights (8), Lord Knights (9), Mighty Cannon (10), Imperial Lord* (8)
- = only available through Imperial Lords and Chaos Warband expansions
