Le Synapse is a two-player abstract game played 4×4 square board. It was designed to be played with materials commonly found at home: Draw the 4×4 board on paper, making the spaces large enough to host matches. The first player places one to three matches in a space, pointing orthogonally at another empty space on the board. This is where the second player must place matches. This continues until someone can't play legally, and loses the game.
As a variant, you can limit the supply of matches to just 25, which means the supply could become insufficient to allow a legal play.
