Frederic Sackrider Remington (October 4, 1861 - December 26, 1909) was an American artist and writer who specialized in depictions of the Old American West featuring cowboys, Indians, and U.S. Cavalry.
The Frederic Remington Art Museum which features his art is located in Ogdensburg, New York.
His painting The Advance-Guard (or The Military Sacrifice) has been used as one of the art pieces in versions of the classic board game Masterpiece.
