Thomas Birch (1779 - January 3, 1851) was a London-born American artist known for the first American ship portraitist. He died in Philadelphia in 1851.

His painting Action between USS Constitution and HMS Guerriere, 19 August 1812 appears on the game covers of For Honor and Glory: War of 1812 Land and Naval Battles, War of 1812, and Broadside by Milton Bradley.
