Edward Moran (August 19, 1829 - June 8, 1901) was an English-American artist known as a maritime painter. His painting "First Recognition of the American Flag by a Foreign Government, February 14, 1778" is the iconic image featured on the box of Wooden Ships & Iron Men.

Note: This person should not be confused with his son Edward Percy Moran (1862-1935), an American artist known for his scenes of American history.
