Alfred "Freddy" Sheinwold (January 26, 1912 - March 8, 1997) was an American bridge player and administrator who was a prolific author of books about the game. He co-developed the Kaplan-Sheinwold bidding system. During World War II, he served as Chief Code and Cipher Expert in the Office of Strategic Services for the United States. He might be best remembered for his syndicated newspaper column which was published for over 30 years.
