Gunter Baars is a game designer who often used the box itself as a component of the game.

Gunter Baars was born in 1962 in Hamburg. After his University
entrance exam he worked for many years as a free-lance copywriter,
editor and scriptwriter, for MAD Magazine and Ottos Ottifanten
(popular German cartoon series) amongst others, as well as for
television and radio. His first game was published in 1989, and since
then about 60 more. Expedition Dino is after Knuckling Knights - The
Duell and other games his 6th game to be published by Haba.
