Van's company is The Galactic Attic, LLC.
Within it are the divisions:
North Bridge Studios - A Communication Design Firm
and History In Action Games - A Gaming Product Brand

Van has been a life-long gamer and was a back-to-back state Chess champion as youth. In high school (during the early 1980s) he continued to play Chess but less competitively and discovered TSR's gamut of RPGs such as AD&D, Gamma World, Boot Hill, and Top Secret. In college Van still enjoyed playing Chess and RPGs, as well as nightly games of Scrabble and Poker. He also became a fan of the MB GameMaster series games with Axis & Allies, Samurai Swords, and Broadsides & Boarding Parties being his favorites. During this time he also became interested in Games Workshop games, especially Blood Bowl and DungeonQuest (still one of his all-time favorite games).

In the early to mid 1990s Van was introduced to and played a number of CCGs. In 1995 he began developing his own brand of card-driven adventure board games designed to be historically accurate and strategically challenging, yet through a unique harmony of accessibility, theme, and mechanics — provide a high level of replay and entertainment value.

Van's first product Moonshot the Game won "Family Game of the Year" in GAMES Magazine for the year 2000, and won several other awards including an ADDY Award for packaging and design. The National Geographic Society called MOONSHOT "A Cosmic Blast!" and InQuest Magazine described it as "One of the Coolest New Board Games!"

More games are on the horizon and are coming soon.
