Rob Bartel is a game designer based out of the western Canadian city of Edmonton, Alberta. His first board game design, Caribé, was a finalist in the 2006 Concours_International_de_Créateurs_de_Jeux_de_Société and Premio_Archimede international design competitions and ultimately won the 2007 Hippodice_Spieleautorenwettbewerb Special Prize for Best Full-Evening Game. His first published board game is Two by Two, released by Valley Games, Inc. in September 2010.
Rob is also a veteran video game designer with BioWare, responsible for computer roleplaying classics such as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, and Dragon Age.
He manages the regional Alberta, Canada and Canadian Games Industry guilds, is a member of the Game Artisans of Canada, and is the curator of the Canadian Heritage Collection, a retail guide and Canadian content labeling program for the Canadian specialty games market.
Rob also acts as an agent for Calgary-based designer, Dr. Gordon Hamilton (known as Gord! in the BGG database).
