Charles Sharp is an American game designer and retired U.S. Army first sergeant with a degree in history from Pennsylvania State University. He has played historical board games since 1962, historical miniatures since 1971, and historical computer games since 1986.
He has spent 20 years researching the Soviet Army in World War II and has written a 12-volume set of booklets on the orders of battle and units of the Red Army 1941 and 1945. Sharp has provided Soviet order of battle information for board game companies such as The Gamers and Games Workshop. He also taught himself to read Russian and French.
