The original kit designed by John Edwards, The Russian Campaign first designer, is basically an update and revision of The Russian Campaign.

The kit consists of a four page set of rules updates and a sheet of revised counters for use with the Avalon Hill version of the game. Players are also encouraged to extend the map by two hexes for end-game play.

Jedko Games produced a second edition incorporating these modifications. Avalon Hill did not.
Kokusai-Tsushin Co., Ltd. republished it as Command Magazine Japan #33 in 2000 and again as "World war Series" #2 in 2010 (see Command Magazine Japan page).
