From the late 1980's and throughout the 1990's, publisher Avalon Hill took a new approach to their classic wargames, as old titles were replaced and updated with new designs, featuring modern mechanics and graphic design, while the simplicity to play remained. The Smithsonian Institute Series games Feature Basic Rules, as well as Advanced Rules and Historical Notes in a supplemental Battle Manual.
