Description Edit | History

The Turning the Tables (T3) Operational Warfare System derived its name from the first game using this system, Turning the Tables by Dirk Blennemann. Subsequent titles refined the system. But with the publisher Moments in History being bought by Critical Hit, Inc., Dirk Blennemann moved the system to a new publisher. At GMT Games it was supposed to be continued as a new series called the Schwerpunkt Series. The system was streamlined and revised and developed to simulate not just East Front battles, but potentially also other ETO battles. But as of 2010, Von Manstein's Backhand Blow, published in 2002, is the only game in this series.

Introductory description of the system from the Schwerpunkt Series rulebook:

The main emphasis is on ease of play and integration of rules systems. (...) During a game turn a player will expend C3I points to control the course of battle for his units. These C3I points are used to conduct movement and combat in each game turn, but are limited in availability. Careful planning and resource management will be required to achieve your victory. Additionally, there are combat chits (such as artillery, air support or anti-tank units) that will affect the tactical outcome of battles, and are not fully in your control.
