The success of the Warhammer 40,000 setting has encouraged Games Workshop Ltd. to create several spin-off products over the years, to varying levels of success. A wide range of board games have been released over the years, with Space Hulk being of particular note.

More recently, various non-wargames set in the Warhammer universes have been licensed to Fantasy Flight Games.
