Johann Trautner worked as book- and artseller in Nuremberg from about 1725. In 1768 the son Johann August Trautner (1745-1803) took over the business. The widow of Johann August Trautner took over after the death of her husband. In 1815 the son-in-law, Friedrich Campe (1777-1846), took over the company.
