MIKA was established in 1978 by Mr. D. Caravias and Mr. C. Misailides in a small place at Keramikos in the center of Athens. The MIKA logo was created by the first two letters of the surnames of the two partners. The deep knowledge in industrial design combined with the quality expertise and the use of high technology soon provide the recognition of the market. Step by step the company developed a considerable collection in games and puzzles. The increasing demand from the domestic market combined with orders from abroad forced the company to look for new premises. In 1980 a bigger place in Votanikos became the home of MIKA. The devotion in quality the competitive prices and the fast renewal of products brought MIKA to the first place among Greek manufacturers. Soon MIKA was ready to expand in new markets, Europe was first. Since the ‘90s puzzles and games bearing the MIKA logo are presented on the selves of big toy stores and supermarkets in Italy, Germany, Spain, Benelux, France, Nordic Countries, Croatia, Turkey, Israel etc. Since 1989 MIKA has become Disney Licensee in puzzles and games for Greece and Cyprus. The devotion in quality and the continuous innovation in product design brought the DISNEY CREATIVITY AWARD for 2002. In September 1999 a big fire destroyed completely the offices and the factory, but MIKA did not collapse. With the full support of the staff, the suppliers and mainly its customers everything was rebuilt and in 2,5 months the first game emerged from a new production line. Peristeri is the new location that hosts the revived factory in a place of 2000 m2.
