En 1982 surge Ediciones Zinco de Barcelona.

En 1996, tras 14 años de publicación de Superman, Ediciones Zinco cesó en la publicación de comics, al no obtener los beneficios por ella requeridos, como consecuencia de la competencia en el mercado sudamericano y mexicano del Grupo Editorial Vid, que es quien cogió los derechos de publicación tras la desaparición de la Editorial Novaro.
