The first edition of Jutland was published in 1967. The Jutland was designed under contract for AH by Jim Dunnigan. The first edition was released with very heavy cardboard range finders, maneuver gauges, and area markers. Jutland is basically a miniatures game with cardboard counters instead of naval models. There is a basic version and a tournament game, a battle manual, Jutland was canceled, and then reprinted in 1974 along with a whole wave of other titles. The reprinted 2nd edition modified the rules, added scenarios, provided cardstock fleet organization sheets instead of mounted boards, and modified the heavy cardboard range finders to cardstock.
