Shanghai Trader is a gameo f wheeling and dealing,vice and corruption, set in Shanghai, the sin-city of the early 20th Century Orient. As an adventurous trading baron of either America, British, French, German, Japanese or White Russian persuasion, you must rip-off the local economy for as much as you dare and get out of the city, with the largest interntional bank account before civil disorder ends the game and your life.
In making your fortune you will have to establish a trading empire, employing coolies,overseers and managers. In doing so, you will have to run the gauntlet of being shanghaied to Old Chinatown, where all manner of skuldggery occurs. You will have to collude with other players; attend events at some of the city's most notorious rackets; and invariably, as you plan your escape, you will resort to hiring a number of special contractors to thug-out, mug, compromise and assassinate your rivals.
