The game got a makeover in all aspects (map, graphic design and finally rules).
Graphic design and illustrations on all components were done by Klemens Franz.
The rules are based on the suggestions in the article "Retuning 1853" by Stuart Dagger and Steve Jones, published in 1990. Dick Ruck, Lou Jerkich and Jeff Heuer wrote the new rules.

Changes to previous versions: The map ends at Calcutta in the East. Therefore Bengal Assam Railway is replaced by East Coast Railway and Waltair is its startpoint.
"Company Credits" are not used anymore as associations are payed by the bank like all other players.
