This version of Essential Flintloque is based on the Deadloque (2nd edition) rules. They came in a free flyer which had an introductory cartoon strip, an introduction article about Flintloque and a price list.

The rules themselves had some changes to the 2nd edition rules which was including in the next full printing of the rules; Flintloque Reloaded.
