2-5 (4, 6). After 3-4 plays of both maps, simply the best release in the series. Best thing to get after you get USA or Europe. Cheap, two awesome maps, names in English, great mechanics... just awesome.

Team Asia has provided me with the best gameplay experiences I've ever had. Josh as a teammate pointed out very particular game styles I never realized I had. Donnie may never forgive me from the time we were a team.

I love partnership games, so I was very excited to see what Alan Moon could do with a partnership version of Ticket to Ride. I'm happy to report that the results are excellent! Trying to figure out what your partner is doing adds another whole level to the gameplay. Sharing half of your train cards with your partner also adds a new wrinkle. In short, I love what this does for the game.

The partnership map can be played with four or six players. The board play is most interesting with six. But if you play with six, you'll want to make sure that you have players that are able to play quickly. Otherwise, stick to four players.

In addition to the "Team Asia" map, this expansion includes the "Legendary Asia" map designed by François Valentyne. It is also very good. The big change on the Legendary Asia map is that whenever you build a mountain route, you set aside one of the trains from your supply. Each of these trains earns two points at the end of the game. This tends to change the game in two ways. First, it accelerates the end of the game, making this map a good choice when you want a quick game. Secondly, the extra two points for the set-aside trains makes the short mountain routes more attractive. It's nice to see a Ticket to Ride map where players are encouraged to fight over some of the shortest routes on the board, rather than go for the long routes.

Played with the Legendary Asia thus far...and love it. I love the new mountain pass mechanic. It makes you really question if the extra two points now are going to be better than the extra train in the long run. Well done.

Amazing addition to an amazing game! The five players map is great, the team map is fantastic too, and both are really beautiful!
But beware..... These maps are not for the weak. The game is quite harder than the U.S. version, and MUCH harder than the European one!

The rating of 10 is given for the team version of the game. Best played with 3 teams of 2 each.

If this map was just the Legendary Asia map I'd rate it around a 6, maybe a 7. It's not that the Legendary Map is bad, it is just not all that unique. The couple of twists they added aren't enough to make it feel like a new game. However flip that board over and you transformed Ticket to Ride into something new, exciting, and spectacular. The basic rules are still there, so it's pretty easy to teach. Partnering up players is so intriguing, because the players are forced to try and communicate in such unusual ways with one another. Yes you can show a few destination cards, but the primary method of communication is more subtle. "OK, I claimed that route, hopefully my partner sees what I'm trying to do." Or "I'll draw red, perhaps she will see where I want her to go." This back and forth is absolutely fascinating to me, and is something I've never really seen outside of partnership trick-taking games. As soon as we're done playing this is one of those experiences where we literally spend half an hour discussing what we were trying to do and where things went right or wrong. As soon as we're done I find myself excited about the next time I can play. Truly a revitalization of the Ticket to Ride series for me.

Worth it for the team play option. It's still Ticket to Ride, but it evokes the same feeling you get from any good parternship game where you aren't allowed to communicate your intentions directly and must speak through your actions alone.

Update: If I'm bumping the base game to 10, Team Asia should go to 11.

Spectacular addition to Ticket to Ride. I think this and 1910 are without a doubt the best expansions.
