8 after one two-player play. Clever puzzle/maze game. With more than two there might be some kingmaker problems, not to mention downtime, but it works fine with two.

Players get 3 action points to take move a stepping tile, move their token over a snake, move a target tile, move through a secret passage or collect an Inca statue. After the 3 Inca statues of a players color are collected the player needs to move towards an exit to win.

Weighing the affects of hindering the other players vs. advancing yourself is probably the most important choice you need to make. Since the board can frequently change you can't plan to far in advance. Lite tactical game, plays fast and has decent theme.

(Rated for 2-players) This one's a bit of a brain burner; your actions may have unintended consequences because of the variety of available moves.

Tentative game after one play. Actually feels like Pente or a create-a-pattern abstract. In order to pick up a treasure, you have to set yourself up in such a way that your opponent can't prevent you fron doing so -- which is actually quite difficult and frusturating, and explains all the comments of the brain-burn and down time.

I like this game, but it is very puzzle like and thinky. Which I like a lot, but can be a real turn off for others. My dad liked it, although wasn't as good as me. My wife hated it and we didn't make it through a whole game.

Only played this a few times, but I just couldn't get into it. Maybe I am missing some key strategies, but nothing about this game grabs me in a way that makes me want to play it. __________________________________________________________________________________________________Played again recently - new rating and review pending - I changed my rating to a 7 from a 5. This game finally clicked with me. For some reason, the gameplay was confusing for me, but now I understand and have found this game to be quite fun.

Juego interesante en el que mueves las baldosas y a tu explorador para sacar los tesoros del templo antes que los demás. Está bien, pero parece que le falta algo para ser un gran juego.

Inka is surprisingly complex for such a small game. I found myself really thinking out each move, mulling over how I could turn tiles and where to place my marker.

Very nice abstract puzzle game. Took me 3 plays to really get the rules right. Now that we have it right, it is a heavy game. Lots of thinking, lots of possibilities. Best as 2 player. We compared it to chess as for the heavy analysis needed.

I really like this little brain burner.

The temple has a sliding /rotating floor which you need to maneuvere to your advantage and your opponents disadvantage.

Quite a lot of downtime between turns as this is quite thinky.

An interesting game. Lay tiles, then use action points to move tiles,to go over snakes, special tile movements or pick up idols (goals). Some strategy involved in moving tiles, blocking chips from other players may prevent movement of tiles, which sticks a monkey wrench in a planned route. More challenging with 3 versus 2 players.

The game seemed broken, but we were playing with the wrong rules (it turns out the no-more-than-one-person-on-a-tile rule doesn't apply to the tiles with the statues on them).

Only played twice. I think it would be great with two player, no more (not sure). It has interesting mechanism to move and rotate the tiles. It feels like a puzzle but it´s more challenging near the end of the game because of the other player moving and bloking your way out of the temple once you've got all the treasures.

While the gameplay definitely felt like an abstract, the loosely pasted on theme actually fits the game okay. The two player game stresses spatial reasoning skills above all else and may not be fun for everyone because of it. I enjoyed, but my wife was only lukewarm. As more than a two player game, I feel that it would turn into an "impede the leader" type game which is a gametype I really don't like.

I picked this up as an impulse/souvenir buy while visiting friends in Berkeley. The rules are extremely simple: you get action points to move your marker and the floor tiles, you get a blocking marker to prevent others from moving one tile, and you have to get into the temple and back out with all three of your statues. However, depending on how much one wants to think about this game, it can be a real challenge or a lighter game. Planning out tile movements in advance and trying to figure out effective ways of blocking opponents--which is hard considering how small the gameboard is and how many options opponents have--would help greatly, but I have absolutely no idea how to do this, since other players can completely rearrange the gameboard before play comes back around. An egg timer would be a good way of controlling flow of the game.
