This optional kit of different trains should always be used if you use any one or more of the 1825 kits R1, R3, K5 and K7 for minor companies. (It is not required for the minor companies in U3 and R2.)

This is a useful optional additional kit to the excellent 1825 games.

(My copy is edition K2.1.)

I would buy these if I get a chance. But for now I use a home made version. I am not a fan of the 3T trains. They will soak up money delaying the next phase. Consequently I do not use them.

Adds some time, but it is good time. Great time even.

I really like to have these in the combined Unit games. Again, I don't think these are particularly useful when playing with just a single Unit. [03/13/2011]

The additional engines are welcome as alternatives to the standard set.

It's nice to have the option for some more interesting trains than the basic ones in the main game.

Very cool, but don't play with them for your first couple games as they add just enough complexity to be too much. As soon as you are playing with minor companies, though, adding these trains is much simpler.

A minor enhancement for 1825. The 2+2 and 4+4E trains are interesting, the rest are really a hangover from the early Regional Kits, which included 'single track' tiles. (If you want to experiment with single track, there's a variant kit at Dave Berry's Morningside Station site).

Hmm
Maybe 3 is a bit harsh, but I don't like or want to play the original game.
Having said that, this supplement is actually very useful for those who DO like 1825, and I would recommend that such people buy this ASAP
