Fantastic. This plays really well multiplayer and is not difficult to get good decks. Cheap too. Worth picking up the starter and some boosters. Don't not get this. Perfect for Magic and Shadowfist fans.

I love the creative way this was made, instead of having 'good' versus 'bad'. However, I think this would have been a great theme to actually make a good vs bad game, with different "factions" in each: politicians and military for the humans, 'undercover' and mechanical for the Cylons.
BUT, great game regardless!

A decent CCG which is simple to play yet eliminates some of the resource problems that many games of this type suffer. Interesting thematic mechanics contribute to a game which is fast and fun but not terribly strategically deep.

The Battlestar Galactica CCG is certainly not groundbreaking, borrowing many mechanisms from older games. It does play pretty smoothly and is a breeze to learn, yet it also feels a little too simplistic to properly capture the intensity of the show. I wouldn't call it a cash-in, but it could have used a little more development. The problem is that sometimes simplicity is a double-edged sword. Characters and starships have only a single stat, and the simplistic framework of the game left very little design room for future expansion. Wizkids would have been better served by making this a boxed game rather than trying to follow a TCG model.

I logged a lot of plays for this game, mostly due to my rabid fandom of the show and the game's 10 minute playtime. It does a lot of things right despite its simplicity, but not enough to hold your attention for any extended period of time. Also, with only one expansion getting out the door before the game's demise, our group rapidly ran out of deck options. Needless to say, we burnt out pretty quick on this one.

Interesting CCG. Have only played with starter decks with one booster thrown in. BSG:CCG seems to use the current trend for resource management - you sacrifice a card to be relegated as a resource through out the game. I'm torn on such resource generation. It works and makes sure no one gets 'manna' choked, but it is a bit generic and doesn't tie in to any theme of the said game.

That said, the direction of conflict with this game was well chosen. Rather than Cylon vs. Colonies, it pits players against each other for control of the fleet. Generally, Cylons will be an outside presence that will be ready to exploit the conflict within the surviving Colonies. I find this to be refreshing and more in tune with the current re-interpretation of BSG.

Well worth checking out. However, it isn't going to get me to jump back in to the CCG world.

I have limited experience with CCGs, but it strikes me that this one doesn't really do anything innovative with the genre. It's still a generate mana and use that mana to do stuff kind of game. Those hoping for a ship vs. ship battle royale between Cylons and the Galactica will be sorely disappointed - the game is all about building "influence" and having your faction control the fleet. Yawn. That theme makes for a wonderful TV show, but a somewhat boring game. The only thing that'll keep me coming back to this is the deck building aspect, which I find mildly entertaining. And I'm a huge fanboy of the show, so that helps. I'm hoping the game tanks, and I can pick up a bunch of Starbuck cards on the cheap.

I am not a fan of this game. I played a few times but it takes a lot to get me into another CCG after Magic and I found the mechanics of this game overly complicated. I undertood them well enought, but it took too much time and brain power, and while I am a huge fan of the show, the cards and actions of this game a bit dry and repetative.

It's not a horrible game, but it's nothing special. I could forgive it's shortcomings as a game if it was at least able to deliver on the BSG theme. But unfortunately, it also fails in that regard. The cards themselves are attractive and feature relevant images from the show, but you never really feel like you're participating in the BSG universe. Instead, you just go through the rather mundane and repetitive motions of a mediocre card game. Too bad.

While the look of the backs of the cards, and the corner cut cards are cool, I feel that this game is a mechanical retread of other games, and it just misses the mark in what I'd expect to see from such a rich and exciting license. Having the Cylons as a static, non-player based element, and reducing the space combat to an abstract really misses out on a strength of the show. The card faces are also weakly designed by today's CCG standards.

Hmmm... I like CCGs, but this one just didn't do it for me. The card design could have been better, but that's just my opinion. The layout of the cards on the table could have been a bit cleaner/clearer.

Cylons are not scary and don't do much when they attack. They are wussie guys in the game.

I rate CCGs and their expandable cousins (LCGs, etc.) on this basis: "I will never invest in one again, but assuming that someone else hands me a deck here's what I think of the game."

High production values and intriguing turn and resource mechanics made this an enjoyable CCG, but there were way too few deck types for it to stay viable in the long haul. Was there a better competitive deck than Cylon rush? If there was, I never saw it.

It's too bad that this one went under -- if they'd solved that problem, I'd probably still be playing it. One gameplay alone, it's a 7; its problems drag it down to a 5, and it being a CCG I no longer play makes it a 4.

Significantly, Warhammer: Invasion does everything BSG did well while avoiding everything it did poorly.

Got the Starter Pack to play and learn. Not very interesting...a generic resource card game that is cashing in on the BSG theme without adding anything of value. May try to add a few booster packs to see if it can get more interesting but that will be WAY low on the purchase priority list of mine.

Generic CCG mechanics with even more generic cards. The themes of the show are almost entirely absent, which makes it difficult to engage with the setting. What does it mean when my Raptor "challenges" the President's fleet? Even the mission cards are dull. Hoping the license will carry a game's theme alone is asking too much.

intriguing; enough to get me interested in CCG, which hasn't happened for the last 11 years (quit Magic in '95).

after several games with decks built from 2 starter sets and 12 boosters, game rating is dropping. With only 10 hit points to gain or lose, speed decks are the rule, leading to most of the cards being useless (think a 5 point Adama or Viper squadron will help when you are already down to 1 hit point?). Maybe more hit points would be better, but why spend time on the game if such a fundamental issue exists?

An average CCG, but nothing to write home about. One point deducted for collectibility. There are only three "colors" of cards, but resources tend to be jealous, so it is difficult to play more than one type in a deck. This made sealed play silly, and constructed didn't seem too exciting either.
