This game is fun, but the vision required to play this version is too much for me. I generally prefer "square" Blokus.

I prefer Blokus classic with squares. Triangles make strategy and pieces more difficult to apprehend, and make the game a bit less enjoyable. Played only twice and only with 3 players though.

Essentially the same game as Blokus but the triangular pieces make figuring out where the pieces go a lot more difficult.

The starting pieces being in the middle of the board is nice as well as you are closer together and almost instantly start getting in each others way.

I don't give fractional ratings, but I would rate this just a notch below Blokus ("Blokus Rectagon," if you will). I like the fact that the shapes of the rectangular Blokus pieces seem to make it easier to block opponents, which to me is central to the game (hence the name?).

Of course, others may like the fact that the shapes of the Blokus Trigon pieces are easier to get on the board despite what your opponents do.

Like this as much as or more than the original! The strange shapes make you think about placement more.

Igazán jó területfoglalós absztrakt játék, nekem jobban tetszik, mint a négyzetes. Egyszerű szabályok, rővid játékidő, remek taktikai helyzetek.

If you like Blokus, you definately have to own this one also. Trigon fixes the problem that arises when playing the original Blokus with 3 players.

2016-02-29
In Blokus Trigon the strategy horizon is quite limited, since it is really hard to plan ahead. There are a couple of general guidelines for maximising the open for play area and minimising the potential for negative points as quick as possible, but most of the time your decisions are tactical and you play what suits the current situation. This is fine and keeps the game lighter.

It is also great to see, that it is always a different piece that could have saved you, which is a sign of balanced game play. In other words, it seems that there are no plays that are "musts" or "must nots" in the early game.

Compared with the original Blokus, it is sometimes harder to see which way the pieces are played but your brain will adapt quickly. The biggest plus over the original, however, is that Blokus Trigon plays extremely well both with 3 and 4, and is playable with 2 players as well. This makes Blokus Trigon the most versatile of the bunch.

Such a fun game. Feels like tetris, and what this version has that the original one lacks is, you can seep between the opponents cracks so it's a bit more flowing.

I find it such a nice short fun filler game.

Fun quick abstract spatial game. The spatial puzzle is clever and decently interactive, and it seems to scale well enough. And it lasts for just the right amount of time, doesn't overstay its welcome.

I like that you can play 2, 3, or 4 players pretty easily. It is easy to learn, hard to master. If playing against more than one opponent outcomes are susceptible to teaming or "ganging up". I enjoy team 2 v 2 the most.

Rating based on 2 and 3 players.

Simple to teach and play. Shapes are too varied/complicated to get too strategy-heavy, but there is a good amount of room for light planning.

I like it as well as regular Blokus and I think I will keep the original one around, although it feels weird to have the same game because this plays better at 3 but the normal plays better at 2 and they both play fine at 4.

Was great fun and exciting to screw people over. Amongst the three of us, the stronger player eventually prevailed over the rest of us noobs, so the game feels very fair, yet we always felt like we had a chance up until the end. However, have heard that may not be as re-playable because it's a solved game. Until I get to that point, would still say I rate it highly.

Together with Ingenious, this one of our favorite abstract games. We like this version more than the original one because you can always sneak through the pieces of your opponent. Regular blokus is very cutthroat imo. Attacking and defending in an abstract game... also plays well with 2 players with 2 colors for each player.

¡Me encanta!

Very good - it's a lot like regular Blokes. I've found that this game is easier for more seasoned players to wind up with a game where 2 or more players are able to put all their piece in. That's not bad if you're not competitive... :-) I wonder if this game has ever ended with all four players putting all their pieces in - that would be pretty cool!
