This is a classic that reminds me of Sunday's at Grandma Rathe's house. She taught me how to play when I was really little and I love the classics.

Wonderful game. Scalable (2-6 players), high player interaction, low downtime between turns (every other player's turn MATTERS), and short enough to be played during a lunch hour.

About as Chinese as burritos. But still a fun game. Good for light gaming when you have too many people for regular checkers.

I should qualify that. My rating of 8 is for the version where symmetrical long jumps are employed. (Apparently popular in France?) If played with the standard short jump, my rating for it would be 6 since it just draws out the game and is much less tactically interesting. Without a patch to force an opponent out of the starting area, the game is clearly broken, rating of 1. The patch I prefer is forced forward jumps over opposing pieces that are within or adjacent to the starting zone, but other valid rules would be that any filled starting area after the first turn be declared a win (no matter whose pieces fill it, but this can still result in an impenetrable fortress), or all starting pieces must vacate by, say, 40 moves.)

Fun multi-player abstract. It is satisfying to set-up multiple marble jumps (as long as the player does not analysis paralysis his move).

forgot how much I liked this game until I played a game recently with my roommate.

I learned to play this when I was quite little but I guess I still have "the eye" for the moves. i love how many people can be involved and the challenge of finding the highest payoff moves, executing them at the right times. Really, a remarkably fun little game if you take it as a match of wits.

My mom usually wins when we play over the holidays. I try to win, but she just takes it easy. She learned from her mother, not certain which of them was a better player.

The only board game that I know mom enjoys and is a great player.

Es como una mezcla entre las damas y el backgammon pero sin matar ni dados. Es un juego rápido( al menos si juegan dos o tres jugadores, al ser más la cosa se ralentiza un poco) y emocionante como pocos.

Actually quite a neat game, and subtle. To advance pieces or to block your opponents, who do you take and who do you leave behind? Do you leave a long jump sequence open or close it off? The fact that it can be played with 2,3,4 or 6 players is pretty cool.

A cool abstract game for 2 to 6 players.
It's nothing like Checkers but it still has a strategy element in this game that makes it fun to play.
Your goal is simply to cross the board and reach the other side with your pieces, however you can take advantage (or be taken over) by opposing players trying to get across in opposite directions.

Chinese checkers is a pretty fun family game. Interesting decisions to make as players race to move all their tokens to the oppositie corner of the board. Mostly, you're trying to exploit the play of others without your own plays being exploited in turn. Would much rather play this than standard draughts.
