Wonderful strategy game, very intense, which can be played by 2 to 4 players indifferently. The control over the game is higher at 2 players, but the shifts in situations in 4 players games are really enjoyable.

This one requires some dedication to the Stratego genre, since the first few plays are confusing, chaotic and boring even, until you know your characters' abilities and the possible strategies better. And there are a lot of those.
My only problem is the 18 hidden pieces you have on each team. Since I constantly have to check if I remembered to put pants on in the morning, I'm not overly enthusiastic about the memory element. Hera and Zeus' amount of obscurity is about the maximum I can handle, so you better know exactly your plans ahead; opportunistic tactics surely won't work here.

Played a two-player game. Fun with first play, and would like to play again. Nice components. Some minor stylistic issues with the English-language rules, but nothing that really affects comprehension. Will need to revise my rating after a few more plays.

This has scratched the "I remember liking Stratego as a kid... I wonder if I'll enjoy it as an adult" itch in a most satisfying manner. Looking forward to getting to know this game more.

You need to keep this one moving--it can drag if you let it. If you don't, though, you get a very enjoyable Stratego-esque romp with effete British snobs and dragons. I can't believe I enjoy a game with a memory component!
You should always play with the dragon traps and two tile lays per turn, I think.

I am unsure about this one. I see potential, but the game seemed a little random; which is slightly paradoxical given the player has complete control over placement and movement of his pieces. The reason is that the player doesn't know where his opponents placed their pieces so he can't formulate any effective strategy and, if he has some semblance of a plan, revelations of an opponent's tile could completely undermine that said plan in a single turn. I will give this one another go just to confirm my doubts, but it doesn't look too promising.

I typically enjoy "special powers" in games as you get to pull off clever combos and improve your play as you gain familiarity with who does what, but when combined with face-down unit deployment as here in Draco Mundis – with me needing to remember where all of my own guys are, not to mention which characters an opponent's tokens are – then I'm more likely to bag it and move on to something else. I'm sure this game is a winner for those who want to put in the effort, but the memory aspect killed it for me.

More frustrating than fun. It's too difficult for me to keep track of all of my critical pieces. It also doesn't seem like you have enough options and flexibility on a turn to form any real strategy or plan. Would rather play Stratego.

A combination of chess and Stratego. The rules and victory point conditions seem interesting at first, but the game seems a bit fiddly; you need to be able to access your pieces but can't move them until they are revealed, but the game is over once all of the pieces are revealed. The memory burden doesn't appeal to me and it seems a bit too difficult to easily carry out a strategy. I'd like to play with more than two sometime to see if the game has a better flavor with multiple players.

To be fair, it was late when I learned this, and my eyes kind of glazed over during the explanation. I forgot where I placed my home base almost immediately after I placed it and the rest of my placements were in support of the wrong piece. Still, I didn't get the "this would be a great game if I was up for it" feeling.

Like Stratego but you have to remember where all your pieces are until they are finally revealed. The character explanations on the shields is microscopic and very hard to read in poor light. Unusual theme - colonial British explorers in a jungle setting with marauding dragons. Terrific art. Played with four and it was slow and frustrating. I couldn't move to reveal and activate my dragons until the very end by which point the dragons of the more experienced players had eaten most of my people.

The game's cute theme of dragon hunting in the jungle unfortunately isn't enough to save Draco Mundis from suffering the inevitable fate of overly relying on player elimination and memory as principal mechanics - boredom and frustration. I'm very surprised to see Asmodee publishing this. I find myself agreeing with Tom Vasel when he calls it a "chaotic Stratego with no real goals, and little fun."

First time players will have difficulty strategizing with their tile placement without guidance from someone with at least one round under their belt. Once you understand what you should do, a good quick game to fit into lunchbreaks.

Drake's Flame calls it Checkers on mescaline; I call it Double Blind Stratego.

I did not like this game, the gameplay is super slow and stalemates happen all the time.

I do love it's art and I wonder if it could be just a smidge better. Maybe I'm not playing it right by stalemates abound.
