just played and finished the Resaca De La Palma scenario with AnthonyN.
I played the Americans Gen. Taylor, did not do as well as Taylor did.
Aristia did get activated in the first turn which hampered the Americans because the Mexicans were able to use all their efficiency markers and with their larger army it played havoc on the American army.
Although we did manage to go past the necessary victory conditions needed to call the game.
We called it a draw.
But I'll say this, this game was very playable and quick. I enjoyed very much and will play it again and again.

The battle scenarios in this expansion are ideal for someone taking their first foray into GBACW. I throughly had enjoyed my first playthroughs. Command rules are stripped down so the player may get a grasp on the basics without being overwhelmed by the command structure rules.

A great supplement with new scenarios, maps, and counters to add onto Gringo! Again, the scenarios are very interesting and most are very playable in under 3-4 hours, making this an ideal way to learn this system and move onto the bigger ACW games.

Adds interesting battles including the one that inspired Cinco De Mayo. I think anyone that likes Gringo would want this too.

I have seriously mixed feelings about this module. I generally like the GBACW system, despite the fact that the rules are still confusing after decades of tinkering (this game is crying out for someone to compile a bunch of illustrated examples in a coherent fashion, to explain concepts like the shock sequence and LOS that are needlessly confusing). On the face of it, this particular module has a lot to offer - interesting, small and seemingly playable battles, including one in which the Mexicans don't actually totally suck (higher morale values than usual in Puebla). But the number of unanswered errata questions (after years, in the CSW folder) is ridiculous - I surmise that the system developer wasn't involved at all in this module and the designer of course designs too many games to keep the rules straight for any single one of them.

Of the 4 scenarios, I found Palo Alto pretty fun, Resaca de la Palma almost unplayable (discrepancies between charts and rulebook are overwhelming), Contreras predictably dull when played in the historical way (and I didn't care enough to play with variants), and Puebla pretty fun overall.

Well I am kinda tired of rules-lawyering myself to death with this game so I will move on.

p500 looks good

There is only one physical map sheet with 2 maps printed per side for a total of 4 (One per scenario). The manual states that there are 2 sheets with 2 ea.

GBACW looks to be a good system, and this period of history and battles has always interested me. Think will be able to get at least one scenario on table with Rindis or Attilla66
