Hat kerem oriasi a jatek.

Brilliant... this game has got to be the best political game ever!

I loved every minute of playing. Highly evocative and awesome system... great tension.

Congrats to Christian and Jason, and kudos to Z-Man for picking it up.

There are so many things to love about this game. I worked on the art for this for months, and was impressed the entire time with how the various mechanics complement each other so smoothly. Delving into the finest details with both designers, I could never find a crack in the system that they hadn't already considered and solved. Called dibs on this one the instant Zev mentioned it.

Love this, and want to play this all the time. I am a dork for modern American history, so this, and Twilight Struggle are right in my wheelhouse for theme. For those who have played Twilight Struggle, 1960 will have some familiar elements, but plenty about it is different - I wouldn't go so far as to call it "TS-lite". You'll feel the push and pull (imagine the TS continuum-style scoring track as an abstraction) as large electoral vote-holding states bounce back and forth between each player's control. The first play will be a good 2 hours, but I would anticipate once both players are familiar with all of the cards, it could settle it at around 90 minutes.

Brilliant game. Gorgeous production. Plays similar to TS in that the challenge is managing the damage of your opponents events; however, 1960 provides some alternate means of overcoming the worst by forcing or blocking events with momentum markers. The trick is knowing when to expend your limited momentum markers to thwart disaster. Furthermore, 1960 does not have the constant tension of TS as the victory point track with the possibility of an early win is gone. A winner is not determined until the last turn during election day. Theme integration is as good as it gets. I can't wait to play this with my kids when they begin studying politics.

I like this game so far (two plays) even better than Twilight Struggle. Amazing details and depth in the design, while maintaining tension and speed of play.

Wonderful must-have game!

Rating might diminish if I later tire of the game, but right now, It's on top of the play stack.

My favorite card driven two player game. Its an amazing game. I like setting up the game next to my computer so that I can maintain a current tally of electoral votes. The tally can be maintained with a file you can get from BGG.

I played my second game and it was fantastic. The flow of this game is amazing. The randomness of who is going to win the election perfectly simulates the tensions a presidential candidate must feel the night of an election. I highly recommend this game as it is an absolute winner.

I played my third game and because of the brillance of this game I have completely re-adjust my user ratings for my entire game collection based on the aim plus quality of this game.

What a great gaming experience. One of the best I have ever played in. What a great story line.

One great game. Similar to Twilight Struggle, but this game cleans up a lot the issues with TS (including the US/USSR imbalance that some have commented about) and having to sift through chits to determine influence. In my mind, a lot better than TS and tremendous fun.

Very intense. Captures the 1960 Election in an interesting way.

I'm giving this a preliminary 10 after one play. I don't give out 10s lightly; I've only bestowed this honor on two other games (Saint Petersburg and Hive). I'm also using the 'Geek's system of ratings--in other words, I find this game to be "Outstanding. [I] always want to play [it] and expect this will never change."

Of course, time will tell if this rating stands up, but I can honestly say that this game is one of the jewels of my collection. Fantastic game!

Even better than Twilight Struggle but only for personal reasons. I think this game is a bit easier to get a grasp on both in terms of rules and game play. You don't have to like the political theme but it helps. This is really an area control and card/hand management game but you feel like you're struggling for the campaign of your life immersed in the history of the 1960 election. Bravo!

An absolutely superb game that keeps you involved until the final vote has been counted. In all three games one candidate looked to be soundly beaten but the final results were Kennedy by 34, Nixon by 12 and Nixon by 3 showing that it's always a lot closer than you think. Each game uncovers more subtlety and depth. An absolute winner.

Terrific. I love Twilight Struggle too, but this is simpler, w/o dice, and the mechanics/theme work equally well. Non-gamers might be enticed to play it. Seems to have great replayability. Another Jason Mathews masterpiece, well balanced and well tested.

I'm greatly impressed by 1960: The Making of the President, and had owned it less than a week before having played twice. Dripping with theme, 2 hours to play, strategically deep - it's a 10.

A beautiful and very engaging game. I get so swept in by this title. It's usually a nailbiter down to the last minute with equal strength players, even if it feels you're running away with it you might be surprised when those electoral votes are tallied. Your opponent can pull some alarming stuff out of his hat, especially at the end. The best game of '07 with no doubt. My only quibble is there just aren't enough support cubes! The support cube issue has been resolved by Zman games generosity. Thanks Zev!

After six plays I am a solid fan of this game. It is natural to compare it to Twilight Struggle. It is lighter and more streamlined than its older brother. I don't agree, though, that it is more luck driven. The theme is immersive, the gameplay brisk, and the endgame tense. I love it.

To me this is the game of the year. An absolutely heart-pounding experience, and how many games can you say that about? Just when I'm feeling jaded, "1960:MoP" comes along to remind me of the fun and pure joy of a great game design. The Momentum Markers and Rest Cubes are inspired ideas ! I finally got to play, thanks to a friend. But can I find my own copy? It appears to be completely sold out. [Update: 11-02-07, got my own copy ... it seems to be easier to find now.] And everybody ... please write Jason & Co. and urge them to create their own take on "History of the World" (or some epic, historically based world civ game) ... wouldn't that be fine? These are not just games, they are living history lessons, and "1960:MoP" made me want to put on a little powder-blue, pillbox hat. I can hardly wait to find out where Jason will take us next.
