Only played once and game seemd slanted due to some players no utilizing all their options fully. Will re-rate after a few more plays.

Pulled this off the shelf for the first time in many years to play with my kid. It may be a Memory variant at heart, but we sure had a lot of fun playing it.

Excellent for kids and a respectable filler for adults.

A nice variation on the bog standard memory game. I suspect that kids aged 8-13 may get most benefit/enjoyment out of it. Having said that, I enjoyed for a change of pace.

Nice mix of strategy and memory, and even a little of bit of bluffing from time to time. I had low expectations for this game after reading the comments here at BGG. When I finally played it, I was pleasantly surprised. My wife likes this one a lot. She kills me at the memory aspect of it. There are a lot of subtle rules here, and I suspect that some of the game's detratctors aren't playing it 100% correctly. Between the 3 types of bribes, all the special tiles you can play on opponents, and the "suicide rocket attacks" there is a lot to keep you on your toes and stretching your brain for the best possible moves. It's certainly not the simple memory game for kids that some comments have painted it out to be.

Not a bad game but not a great one. The only one I have played where memory is such a factor. Rather quick to learn but strategic enough to keep it intersting. Great for the cheap price (under $25 retail). Not that popular so you can usually find it on sale, and well worth it.

A solid little memory game - for those who like such things. As someone who's had difficulty with short term memory, this little game helps me exercise my brain. Delta V is light and enjoyable, and a great little filler game. Because the board is randomized every game, which I like, players are forced to develop a strategy for both searching the board and memorizing the opportunities discovered. If you play the game with the goal of not only enjoying it, but also developing mental tools that you can use in other such games, the experience becomes that much more worthwhile. The space exploration and exploitation theme is undoubtedly tacked on, but I don't particularly care. It serves well enough as a backdrop for play.

A game of concentration with nerdy mechnics. Another one of those $5.00 FFG games that I picked up during their holiday sale. It's fun enough despite the terrible components which I could have made here at work.

Nice components, rules use an extremly small letter font. Somehow feels too overloaded for a memory game. A bit slow. Better (higher rating like 6 or so) for children.

Players represent miners extracting minerals from Asteroids. Players on their turn take one of four actions, building and deploying rockets, scanning asteroids, etc in order to local mineral combinations. The asteroids are all face down, Memory fashion. To end their turn they select a contract and try to satisfy a public contract by remembering where the minerals were. Layered on top is some special tiles that add a "take that!" element, and some rudimentary ship combat. Works okay, but nothing startling.

So you're sick of playing MEMORY with your eight-year-old. Three options therefore present themselves to you:

1) Find some way to make the game tell a story.
2) Add a bunch of extra rules and plastic geegaws.
3) Play something else!

DELTA V represents an honorable attempt to follow options 1) and 2) together. Unfortunately, the story the game tells has absolutely nothing to do with the new mechanics, making the former seem ad hoc and the latter seem fiddly and arbitrary (in spite of their relative simplicity). Option 3) still comes out as the clear winner.

Something went wrong in Delta V. The game is not a deep one and so judging what went wrong and why should not be elusive, but something is amiss in the design. Game balance seems to be the culprit, but I cannot tell if that is due to players or mechanics. Might give it another go as a (re)design this project.
