Just picked this up, yet to play it.

Had my first play last night. Awesome party game, would be better if you can play with more than 6 players, I will have ot get MadQuao for the true party game experience.

Had an absolute blast playing this upon returning from GenCon 2013. There are elements that would make it a great party game for adults, where the innuendo could get pretty deep. However, we played with our 12 year old and had no problems. In fact, we haven't seen her laugh that hard in a while.

A great party game that works well even if you don't know the people. (Some party games struggle if you don't know the personalities.)

Goofiness but I like goofiness and I like the hidden rules that you don't even know you are breaking! Great idea! This would be better with more cards. Low number of cards really hinders it. With 5 rounds you see the same cards at least 3 times each and that's dull.

Not a terrible game for what it is. Light party fare here. Has to be played with a group that's not afraid to talk and be silly. Introverts need not apply. I can see this getting old after repeated plays.

This is definitely a game where you need the right people. This is a party style game where you are going to look foolish, but at least you will have fun doing it. This is not a game to be taken serious.

Silly party game for a small group.

It leads to some enjoyable moments and often craziness.

Still, no real strategy and the winner is a complete crapshoot, so that's a little annoying.

Thebiggest problem this game has is its lack of replayability. After 3-4 games, you'll have seen or played through the entire deck, so it wont beast interesting. The secret rule cards would also be known or guessable, so not as much fun.

OveOverall, I'd say play this if you get the chance but don't buy it.

Not sure how well the rules cards will stand up to repeated play. The white cards became repetitive in a single game of 5 hands. Possibly need to implement a "no repeats" rule for white cards played in a single game. Game rating subject to review on subsequent plays.

It's not a bad game, but it's not a good game. We were disappointed coming off of Quelf, expecting something of that caliber. Unfortunately, the game needs tweeked to have a real ending and drive. We are thinking of starting the game with a Quao and also adding a house rule of allowing a switch of cards at the beginning of the hand would be fun (kinda like hearts). Also there needs to be more regular cards.

Currently sequestered for Tony and Rachelle's wedding.

A party game.. the most interesting part was watching people break the quao rules. Part of the fun of the game is not knowing the cards, so it has a limited number of plays built into the game.

It's a party "game" without the game added to it. Sometimes you do "funny" stuff, but most of the time, it's just a boring way to shed cards.

It's really stupid, and not much of a game, but if you get into the right silly mood and everyone gets into it, it can be funny as people do or say the silly things the cards tell you to do to get rid of them.

An irritating party game condensed into card game format. Basically pointless and without strategy, and actively requires players to say and do silly things. (For the record, I love saying and doing silly things, I just don't like being required to do them by a game. I don't need a game to be silly and laugh with friends. The enforced silliness of these types of games is stifling.)

This game is... weird. Make sure to play with people who will take the job of not taking it seriously very seriously - you can just play cards and half-heartedly do what they say and ignore your job as the Quao, but then it's not fun.

(replaced with WDPTTAA:L for all time-wasting purposes, so trading away)

Mad Quao is much, much better than the original Quao. Go check that game out if you haven't already.

The original Quao is pretty fun, but only for a limited time. It has several flaws that drag it down:

1. Weak humor: the cards seem to be lazily written (they appear to have taken all of 5 minutes to come up with), so they fail to scream out "Laugh at me, I'm hilarious!" Obviously the humor must come from the players, but still... more creative and flavorful cards would go a long way.

2. Too few components. You will burn through the whole deck several times in a single game, so the same questions & challenges will keep popping up again and again and again and again and again and again....

3. A lot of the secret Quao rules are lame. We played a game in which none of them really mattered. They were all such obscure, irrelevant rules that very few of the players ever broke them.

Having said all that, the game definitely has some potential. If you made your own cards for it (about 10x as many as they give you in the box oughta do it), then replayability would improve. Blank Quao rule cards would also be great.

Slightly fun for the first few rounds, the game gets repetitive fast due to the small deck size. The humor seems geared toward 12-year olds; the secret rules are the only thing very interesting about this game.

It's a great concept, and I did laugh, but man, it also got really annoying. I think this suffers from being a relatively all-ages retail product. With a more adults-only take or personalized cards, it would go further. That said, the kids we played with really seemed to like it. But the wife will never play again.

First play - Four players. I didn't make it past the second round. The game is to be played over 5 rounds.
Even with alcohol I seriously doubt this game could be fun for more than 15 minutes. Too few cards and it only plays up to 4 players! What kind of a party game is that? I liked the people I played with but I did not like playing this game.
