I like that the pieces are designed so that you can flip them the easy way, and it's the same effect as swinging them around 180° the hard way. Once you force your solving to be methodical (for the easy side), this is pretty easy to tackle… which is why there's the hard side: The easy side permits 6 positional combinations × 2³ flip combinations = 48 combinations; the hard side, 24 positional combinations × 2⁴ flip combinations = 384 combinations. The hard puzzles are a good bit nastier. devil

This is another puzzle game by the creator of Ubongo. I think I like most of the Ubongo games better, but this one isn't too bad. The luck element seems heavier in many ways.

Ever since we first played Ubongo, I've had my eye on this game. Our first play proved that my I was right. Code Omega is a great puzzle game that is a bit odd in the scoring. I think Ubongo does scoring better, but this game is great in it's own right.

If you like Ubongo or other puzzle games, this is one you need to try.

Acquired in a trade that ran over between Feb and March 2011. Sold in my game auction 12/2011.

Played once (with 4 players). A good speed puzzle, but not as good as Ubongo to my eyes, because it seems easier to solve methodically. The scoring system - as the one in Ubongo - adds annoying luck to make sure the best player may lose, but I guess it can just be ignored anyway.

The kind of game one might expect from the creator of Ubongo. Whereas Ubongo is more spatial, in this game you are trying to line up the black bars on the various colored strips that you'll use in each puzzle. The earlier you finish, the more dice you get to roll toward your score. Lucky die rolls can mean that the best player doesn't always win the game, but hey, that's how it goes.

I thought I would hate this game, but I didn't. The scoring mechanism means that everyone has a chance, not just the fastest player, but there is enough of a reward to keep solving a puzzle first very satisfying.

I felt like I was playing Ubongo, so I give the original more credit since there as more creativity in the design. I also like the puzzles in Ubongo a little better. One improvement here for me personally is using dice to score instead of the fiddly gems, which can be a pain to set up and detract from the simplicity of the game when you explain it, especially when teaching non-gamers. Cool name-it sounds like a spy thriller.

First played April 9th, 2009. Taught in 5 min, played in 40 min with 5 players. This has a good luck of luck and skill. It's a good filler game and the timer is nice so the length of the game doesn't go on. Each player is given a pawn in 5 categories and ~10 puzzle pieces. On each turn everyone draws a board and everyone races to complete a 3 or 4 piece puzzle in the fastest time. Everyone turns over their card after an eight sided-die is rolled to determine which of the 8 puzzles on everyone's board. Each player's puzzle is different. You complete the puzzle by lineing up your pieces where one of the two bars makes a 3-4 bar pattern. Say "done" when complete. First one gets to roll a 6 sided-die representing all five colors and a wild where you choose which pawn to advance. First one with any pawn to the end wins. In the case of the tie, the the 2nd furthers pawn breakes the tie. I'd recommend giving this a try for those who like puzzles and a controlled lenth type game.

This thing is light years ahead of Ubongo in terms of fun. The scoring is so much better than the wonky gem scoring. Great abstract/puzzle game.

Nice little rapidity-puzzle game, to which the designer added a random element (the reward as a dice rolling to move your pawns towards victory) that will annoy the control freaks, but allow a weaker player to still have a chance to win. Far from unforgettable, but fun.
