This is a light "push your luck" kind of game. The climbing theme is well implemented and the cards use a lot of rock climbing lingo although that doesn't impact the ability for non-climbers to learn the game. It makes for an interesting filler game but takes up a lot of table space.

Sometimes the comments of people on BGG amaze me. Like on of the comments for this one: "It's a race game due to the shortness of the game." LOL! No, it's a race game because it was designed that way! Check out the name "RACE for the Summit". Does that sound like maybe it was supposed to be a race game? Or: "you have to sleeve the cards but then they do not fit in the box at all so you have to store them in something else". Really? Let's see - when I put any of my 14,000+ Magic:the Gathering cards in sleeves (which I do with every single deck I've ever created) do they then fit in the M:tG boxes that they come in? I don't think so...

This is a goodgame, admittedly a quick and easy and non-super intellectual one, but then it seems to me that is precisely what the designers intended it to be. I think one has to judge a game against its peers, in terms of what the target of the game was meant to be, not as to how it compares with M:tG or Chess or Go, all of which belong in the category of "games with incredible depth and eternally expanding intellectual challenge".

So in the universe of games of its genre, I'll give it an 8. And if you want a quick, easy to get going, fun game, give it a whirl.

If you're not a climber, or at least playing with a climber, don't bother. As a game, it's merely ok. But if you are climber, this game incorporates the climbing theme amazingly well.

Better than I expected - played with a group of climbers and we all had a great time.

Fast and easy. Falls makes the game thematic enough for what it is, but this is in no way a simulation.

It's climbing and not hiking, but still, it involves scaling a mountain. A fun push-your-luck racing game. I would have preferred the characters to be based on notable climbers rather than humorous spoofs of pop culture stars. It would have helped with the theme though it does not affect game play.

This is a really simple game to learn. However, it took us less time to set up and play than it did to read the rules.

The individual characters and ability card mechanic was pretty well thought out, but I didn't get to see much of either. Most likely, it was because the game I experienced was only two-player. I'd like to try this with four or five next time.

And I'm going to play as "Granite Jackson" when that time comes.

Slightly boring race game. One unlucky card raw can screw you, too long for what it is.
Only cool as a gimmick for game-playing climbers.

Silly little filler that has you racing to be the first to top out on a mountain. Mostly luck.
