So much fun, I just love this game which get everyone in good mood in 5 min. I've played it countless times, and still enjoy it as much as the first time.

Fantastic group game. Certainly wouldn't want to play this very often at all, but it's pretty hilarious with a large group.

Brought by friends to my home to be played after dinner, but I already had the chance to see the prototype years before. Light, fun, noisy and original! And the publisher did a nice job with the components and box.

Extremely crazy game, but I think you only want to play it occasionally especially late at night.

This is really Hystericoach perfected. Playing in pairs allows for you to be more involved in the game, rather than having 3 or 4 people on a team. I also like how you are restricted in the movement you are allowed to make. In Hystericoach players often found a way to cheat the rules as written, and these rules get it just right. The Japanese words are pretty difficult for most people, and it's more fun having everyone use the same (fake) language at the same time.

Laugh so hard I nearly peed! My top rating! I love it! Some of the variations are quite fun too, and we came up with a few more you could do just at the table after we played, so it seems like variations could be endless!

I was getting ready to add a point to my rating of Tokyo Train, seeing that there were other languages included besides Japanese. But after actually playing the game I see that while they have added other languages (Hawaiian, German, I forget the others), there are fewer of the Japanese language cards. There's only two sets of each of the languages. I guess each person should use different languages, but I was disappointed to lose some of the cards I have already enjoyed. So, still at an 8.

Loud and noisy, Tokyo Train is the perfect fun filler or light game for opening or closing a gaming meeting: it works wonderfully with non gamers as well. Don’t play it in a crowded place though!

A simplified version of Hysterycoach. Better? Not really... For one, it seems a bit too easy to complete sometimes (I would have hoped than optimizing the solution would be a factor, but it seems that frenzy speed is more important). Maybe this would be solved in the harder version?

My biggest issue, though, is how it is just impossible to play for me: this game is not simply colorblind unfriendly, it is downright colorblind hateful! Three of the 6 colors are too similar for me, especially since you usually have low-lighting on the card (which stands upright). Plus, the colors on the character cards are "shaded" so they don't match perfectly the colored discs on your card. It would have been so simple to use some logos or a small version of the character face, or whatever...

Loco Motive (formerly Tokyo Train) is not a game you're going to play all the time, but those few times you do play are going to be a blast. It's fast, fun, and incredibly funny. The BGG scale makes me want to give it a 6, but the amount of fun I have with it makes me want to give it an 8. I compromised with a 7!

Tokyo Train is pretty much a pocket version of Arghtect (Ugg-tect).

But there are several differences that make me enjoy it more than its bigger brother:

It's very portable, the concept you have to explain is less "free form" and both teams have to explain the same card.
