Actually I'm impressed with this. Bought it for our 6yr old son and he enjoys it, though it's marked for ages 9 and up. Has real strategy to it, I think. Depends a lot on remembering the location of hidden colours.

As a game, I give this 6.5, but as a Lego toy that also is a game for my son to enjoy I give it a 7.5, hence the average score of 7. It's not bad, and it's fun for my son because he loves Legos!

Roll and move, with some memory and randomness. It's OK, and short. Can be a bit confusing at times which side of the pyramid you are on.

After 1 play. Preliminary rating.

Rather kids game, nice one, but as far as adults are concerned, I have serious doubts about replayability (and simplicity and lack of control-->damn dice).

One of the principle ideas behind the LEGO line of games is 'change them', but I'm not convinced I'll be willing to expend my thoughts to do that in this case.

Another decent LEGO game - the memory aspect works well, especially with the secret chambers in constant motion. The movement of the mummies and the ability to rotate the pyramid to block other players also works well. The end-game, however, changes the game into the luck of the die roll. Terrible ending conditions that need to be changed in order to make this playable. The addition of the optional treasure chamber rule helps, but some kind of house-rule victory condition has to be added.

First you build the board from the LEGOs, and this becomes a really nice looking game with the pyramid in the middle. You go once around the board to collect colored lanterns or peek at hidden lanterns. Then the pyramid can be climbed but only on sides with a color that either matches one of the player's lanterns or matches a hidden colored lantern that the player must accurately guess. A roll of the die can allow player movement, can allow a pyramid rotation for a particular level and those above, or can cause mummies to move down the pyramid. Instead of rolling, you can also move to another side of the pyramid if needed or desired. The only disappointment may be the ending which just requires an exact roll to win. It is fun with kids.

For a Lego game not bad. Not as good as the Hogwart's one but isn't too bad to play with the kids.

Gets better (6.5) if combine with Ramses Return for a mega game.

Interesting concept, but it's just a roll and move game with some memory components.

If you like memory games, you'll probably love this one.
I didn't.

The dice is clever, but not enough to save the game.

[LUP 03-Sep-2009] Present to myself. I resisted when I first saw it but kept on seeing it. YAETKG (Yet Another Egyptian Themed Knizia Game), but not the best the bunch by a long way.

The bits are fantastic, memory aspect is so so, the ability to rotate the pyramid to save yourself from the mummies or endanger others is neat. The die roll at the end to try and win is uggh. I think we will house rule this away to just make it first to the top as that will be much more satisfying for all.

Daughter the Younger has asked to play this (and Magikus) a few times since we opened them.

My wife picked this up as a gift to me and my son while traveling. Partly because my son loves Legos and partly because it was the only game my wife saw that she thought I didn't have. It is so bland. It is quick. So, for kicks sake it could get back out. But, there really isn't much of a game here, OK, I didn't expect one.

Actually a lot better than I thought it would be - it's clearly for kids, but probably more fun for adults than many kids' games, ie, it's not just luck. There are choices to be made, jewels to collect, and memory skills.

It's thematic, and with one of the suggested endgame variants, feels very Indiana Jones. Plus it's all made of Lego, so looks kinda great!

A dice fest with some memory elements.

The tiny pieces are hard to grab and move around the board and would be easy to lose. It is definitely not a game to have around very small children.

It was fun to build on Boxing Day, but a few plays with the parents revealed a very limited game. It looks great, plays quickly, is nice and simple to learn, but don't expect any strategy. It doesn't feel like a Knizia game - you win by rolling the correct side of a D6 on your turn! I also found it a bit fiddly, with pieces coming away from the board each time we moved. I think kids will enjoy it... and it gets at least 4 bonus points for being Lego.

house rules are needed here- I expected more - kind of lame but the pyramid itself is cool - and it is legos so if you find it cheap definitely worth it but as a game it is kind of bad. basicly it is a memory game with rolling a big die to kill king ramses-

Without any doubt Lego Games appeal to two categories of gamers: the youngest, who are moving their first steps in the hobby (mainly thanks to their gaming parents); and the older, most likely said parents, who are still recalling the thousands of hours of good time Lego bricks gave them in their childhood. Yet children are obviously their true target, as their light and simple (but easily customizable) rules clearly show.

A simpler yet slightly fiddlier set than most in the series, the nice-looking Ramses Pyramid is a visual and building delight but a true pain to play.

Another cutesy Lego game where there really is very little going on. Going first is a pretty massive advantage; on a die that only rolls 1-3, if you're second (or even later) the likelihood is that all of the crystals will be gone by the time you move to any space. Getting to look inside the secret chambers is mildly useful, but in the absence of your own crystals you'll have to reveal all of this 'secret' information if you want to progress up the pyramid.

In essence, short and fairly mindless. Very pretty but far from memorable.
