Better than Monopoly! I'd pick this over Monopoly any day. Just adds what Monopoly seems to be missing in many ways. Bigger board, more spaces, higher payouts, but still has the house building and rent collecting.

My husband and I enjoy this. It's like Monopoly, but faster, more fun, less frustrating. And, there are no MONOPOLIES, so things aren't totally hopeless if you don't land on specific properties.

Not nearly as great as monopoly. Some of the rules are a little silly and seem to be there just to not be a pure monopoly rip off.

Milton Bradley's Easy Money was the answer to Parker Brothers Monopoly - and what did we get?

Monopoly..... minus the broken. Outside of some slight variations, the two games were eerily similar. They both featured a board with properties, paper money, houses and so on. But it was one of these slight variations that made Easy Money the superior game - and that was the rule that you no longer needed monopolies to build - you just needed one property on each side of the board.

Played this a few times when I was really young but forgot the game. recently play solo and it is a monopoly type game. I'd almost say it's a simplified version because these is less bookkeeping and you don't need to match a set, however they introduce auctioning properties by force. Better in some ways to monopoly and worse in others, I would say although some good things have come from this version I prefer monopoly a little more. This game is likely where many of the "house rules" and messed up rule came from in pertaining to monopoly.

Essentially another version of Monopoly. When I was a kid I would combine the games for a monster Monoply game. Fun to play with the kids, if you've got some around.

Very different, and much more enjoyable, than the contemporary title of the same name.

Yes, definitely a "copy" of Monopoly... especially if it came out in 1935 (the same year that Monopoly was introduced)??

Maybe, the main thing that is different about Easy Money is that you don't have to get a "Monopoly" to start adding houses to your properties... But, you DO have to own one property on each side of the board (which is easier to do in my opinion). Otherwise, this game plays almost exactly like Monopoly...

I have the 70's version of the game, and one thing I remember about playing is that you always seem to run out of houses of your color. MB really should've included a few more houses, so, if you pick up this game, you might want to get two (for the extra pieces).

Ya, I'm surprised that Milton Bradley didn't get sued by Parker Brothers for this one... it is SO MUCH like Monopoly (it's really a clone)!! Of course, NOW... they're both owned by Hasbro, so it doesn't really matter today.

Monopoly with a couple of minor changes: Property can be immediately mortgaged for almost twice the purchase price, one property on each of the board sides must be purchased before any another properties or houses can be purchased, and the Hospital officially receives payments in the manner of the common, erroneous, Monopoly Free Parking house rule. In addition, houses come in colored sets for each player so the Monopoly ploy of building up to only 4 houses, to deny others of builds (due to component limits), will not work.

It's not a bad game, but you are going to unintentionally bring the Monopoly rules to this game. (ex. rolling again on doubles, etc.)

Some of the rules can be difficult to interpret and others are just feel broken. For example, some of the utilities are bad & you are much better off mortgaging them. The Majestic Theatre will make a player pay $100 if they land on it and the Waldorf Hotel will make a player pay 10x the role of the dice to the owner. You'll hardly make any money from that (especially when you have to AUCTION them off to buy them and it may never be cheap...)You are better off mortgaging them and using that money to upgrade to sub-divisions on your other properties.

I do think the game is more fair than Monopoly and you aren't at the mercy of the other players as towards trading. I also like that you can only buy properties on one side of the board until you have one on each of the four sides.

It's not a bad game, I would play it again. It's actually kind of interesting playing a game you don't really know a lot about. At least with Monopoly, I know what all the cards will say & which properties are the most landed on, this one is different. I know almost nothing about the game "feel" for this game & that alone makes the game more appealing.

I played this game for the first time in years last month. It's really annoying, actually -- it's Monopoly with just enough rule changes to be different, but not enough different to be better.

Easy Money for the folks who originally marketed this one- rip off Monopoly and give it a new name. Of course, it's all owned by Hasborg now, and Monopoly itself was a rip off. Whatever. The game still sucks. Only played this a few times as a kid, have no desire whatsoever to try again.
