None of the Ingenious small spin-offs are in the same league as the various Keltis ones, but nonetheless this is a nice package of clever, interesting, fast-playing games. It's surprisingly easy to misplay them though, so make sure to pay close attention to the rules the first time you play (they're short - shorter and lighter even than the Keltis Kartenspiel and Mitbringtspiel).

I don't have a lot of use for "filler" games, but these work for me.

Have only played the dice game thus far and was surprised how it really captures the essence of the board game. For example, in the board game you have to jump on some colors before they become blocked. It happens here too, because players aren't going to save those colors on their dice if they've already scored high enough in them. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised since it's Knizia. Who else could pull that off?

This is a great little set of Ingenious inspired games which fit (barely) into a small box which you can take with you anywhere--playable even on airplane tray tables. There is enough variation from the original game (which can be played on iPhone/iPad and therefor taken almost anywhere as well) plus the tactile nature of cards, tiles and dice, to make it worth stashing to take along on trips. They all play quick, and best with just 2 for the control--you can play with more but player chaos takes away player-control. Well worth the small amount of space on your shelf.

A fun little trio of games related to the brilliant game INGENIOUS. Fast, fun, easy to teach, and can play up to four. The only problem is, once puched, it cannot fit into the box with the top all the way on. Get a big rubber band or two.

Ran through all three challenges today. Enjoy the tiles, cards and dice in that order. Not much more challenging then the original Ingenious.

Very light set of games, easy set up and relatively quick playing. Perfect for some light gaming on a rainy afternoon with your significant other or to take with you on trips. If you like Ingenious then you will like this offshoot. Price is just a tad high, but as with all FF games the components are solid quality. Nice cards, dice and tiles. The scoring tiles will definitely wear out sooner rather then later with those plastic pegs.

While clearly based on his prior title, Ingenious, these three games are different enough to justify their inclusion in one box and to add to the genre of abstract strategy titles to Reiner's name.

Each holds slightly different strategies and challenges. Our favorite here would be the dice challenge for some reason. Perhaps because it's compact and relatively simple with few parts.

Captures the strategy of the classic Ingenious using different random mechanics instead of plastic tiles on a board. Dice or Cards or Tiles without the board. Looked lightweight until I actually played.

The three "challenges" are actually independent games, all of which use the set of six color-identified symbols that Knizia built into the original Ingenious. Although abstracts, these are not open-information games. Each has a different mechanism for generating randomness, but all three have opportunities for players to manage that randomness, as well as scoring features to balance it.

This is essentially ingenious shrunk down into a shorter filler type package. You get to choose how you play with dice, cards, or tiles and while there are slight variations between the three, you are essentially playing a quicker ingenious with some push your luck elements.

Like Ingenious itself this is a clever series of themeless puzzle games that present the players with interesting decisions. Rules for all three games share some similarities with one another and with the parent game yet each game has its own subtle differences that radically change the gameplay and strategies. Clever little series of related fillers. I think I prefer the dice game to the others but the others are pretty good as well.

The tile game, unlike the other two, is by and large a push your luck game where the timing of your Ingenious!es are very important (and where the end game is a little odd, very different in feel than the rest of the game). I can't stress that enough. Most pulls of the tiles will lead to either the puller or the viewer(s) smiling. At least it does if you're into schadenfreude.

It plays very fast (as do all the games).

The card and dice game have a weird flow to them due to the rules about which colours can advance when. The dice game handles this better since there tends to be a better mix of available colours on any turn, as well as the doubles are wild rule.

Tiles 5 plays, rating 7
Cards 2 plays, rating 6
Dice 1 play, rating 7

The tile challenge is silly, it mostly plays itself, there aren't too many meaningful decisions. (4.5)
The card challenge is a fine, even though not extremely special adaptation of the board game. I think it's better with more players .(6.4)
The dice challenge might be quite weak with four (5.8), but it's a really interesting dice adaptation of the card challenge (not the board game). (7.0)
I know their average would not be so high but the box as a collection deserves it.

O jogo é baseado no famoso Ingenious e mantem boa parte do princípio do jogo.

Out of the 3 challenges, I only found 2 to be worthwhile. The tile laying game is easily the worst of the bunch. The dice rolling challenge is interesting. But the card challenge is easily the best of the bunch. It might be worth getting the set just for the card game alone. It's a fun semi-bluffing game where you have to anticipate the card(s) your opponent(s) lay down, and build off of them. You also have to be careful of the cards you lay down that your opponent could use to his/her advantage as well.

The dice challenge makes it hard to catch-up once you fall behind. This is due the the rule restricting pegs to two zones at a time.

Rated for the dice game only. The dice game is not appreciably different from the card game. Great custom dice, though.

Too bad the components don't really fit back in the box when punched. I'll probably throw out the cards, since the Einfach Genial Kartenspiel is already incredibly portable and well-produced.

What's amazing about these games (I've previously played the card version separately) is how they all capture the spirit and feeling of the original Ingenious game using such different mechanics. Maybe it's the individual player boards that track your progress, but I think it's more than that.

The games both have the same kind of "pile on" feeling where once one symbol gets big everyone starts going for it, until someone decides to shut it down.

The only reason I don't rate this higher is that I'm not that big of a fan of the original game, so I'm not necessarily looking to play a different game that feels like the original board game.

Two plays of the card game, three plays of the dice game and one play of the tile game. The card and dice games are entertaining and have much of the same flavor as regular Ingenious. The tile game is very random, though, and didn't appeal to me at all. Of the three I think I like the dice game best, but only with two or three players; with four it's harder to roll the critical "wild scores." The card game plays well with four, however.
