A fantastic game for teaching kids to recognise that letters are different shapes, that the same letter can occur in different words and simply to recognise letters. Recommended to all parents.

Fun educational tool for preschoolers. Involves counting, recognition of colors, and letters of the alphabet. Rating based on target age.

I like elephants. I like how they swing through trees.

Rating based on playing it with my kids (ages 2-5). There is some minimal strategy to it, using the "advanced" version. And we're big Cat in the Hat fans, so you know, it's got theme! :o)

teaches age-appropriate skills (counting, letter and colour recognition) for kids but a little boring for adults.

A nice game for kids that are just learning how to read. Although it's appropriateness would not last long for any particular kid, I would give it excellent marks when a kid is just the right age or for a classroom.

Yet another Seuss game. This one would be a 2.5 without the point for the theme.

There's not much to this - once your child figures out the matching system, there is no strategy or tactics.

[1 play] Initial reaction rating. The good is that it does have the goal of teaching little kids counting, colors, and letters. The bad is that there are a lot better ways to do so than just spinning a spinner.

This is nice to play with 4 and 5 year olds. There are no decisions, being all luck, so they have a shot at winning, plus they get to practice identifying and matching letters, as well as matching words to pictures. It's all over in 5-10 minutes.

We house ruled these bits into something entirely different. We draw the tiles, which are mostly household items, and have to weave them into extemporaneous story-telling; this made it actually fun for the kids.

The only redeeming quality of this game is that it helps your kids start to learn and match letters before they're at reading stage, but I think the time spent playing this very dull game would be better spent reading books to your kids.

No idea why there are a few 1 and 2 ratings for this game on BGG. It's a game for 4 years olds, and sure, I wouldn't play it except for with my kid, but in that context it's just a fine game, full of color matching and objects with words, and a spinner, and no complexity or challenge at all. In fact all the things that make it great for 4 year olds and lousy for chess players ;-).

Would love to play this with my gal, but have no instructions. With the descriptions we could probably figure it out though.
