Nice, a bit abstract game (suits me!) in archeology theme. Fast play. Expecting a lower score for 2 players.

First impression: The die brings just enough randomness to the game. You can control the odds with wise placement of workers. What I didn't like about game was the board. Graphical design could've been better since it is hard to see where all areas go and sometimes it takes time to count value of some squares. Scoring suffers from this too.

Great game with a nice theme. Surprising amount of strategy and the board looks nice. Only problem is the site digs are a bit hard to discern since the board is rather accurate in it's appearance. Would like to get this game.

The Backgammon comparison is apt. I like games where I need to proactively manage probability, and this is that game, for sure. I wish the art was a bit more clear, though the variable board setups are neat.

Works fine as a family game or a lightish game for gamers. My 8 and 11 year old had no trouble with the board and the mechansims. At 45 mins or so it didn't outstay its welcome. I found the randomness element of the dice entirely manageable. Its good to have some games with a lighter feel. At discounted prices (4E in Toys-R-Us in Dusseldorf) is a good buy.

This game was a pleasant surprise for an impulse buy. It is light and quick and yet still affords some tactical thinking. Game play is very straight forward : place a 3rd piece, roll the die, and move one of your 3 pieces onto the board. The key is all in the selection of your starting locations. Ensure that you have a good play for a variety of die results and enjoy. The game plays well with 2 with only a brief amount of cluckiness to the 2 player variant rules. Games tend to be close when all is added up at the end. Not sure why this game flew under the radar of so many - it deserves a few second looks.

Great filler game. The dice brings some luck element, but there are still many decisions to make. Very well balanced for this type of game. The board may be a bit confusing for some players.

The artwork could be maybe just a little clearer, and the rules are not written very well. But the basic game concept is pretty cool, once you understand what's going on. I disagree with people who say scoring is hard. It's just not explained very well in the rules. But it's a dandy.

A felnőttkori társasjátékozásom egyik első darabja. Kellemes kis játék különböző tudású régészeinkkel adott területen a legnagyobb befolyást szeretnénk elérni, amivel értékesek tárgyakhoz juthatunk.

Played as a 2p game, so it didn't work quite as imagined. Also, we struggled to understand the scoring. After finishing (I lost 30-60 VPs) we worked out how to read the board a little better. We also spent way too much effort fighting to get pairs onto squares in order to knock pieces off. Wider distribution would have achieved more.

It's an odd beast. Interesting, but burdened with confusing graphics and the luck of the die roll.

The game is a very strange mix of die rolling and area control. Players place tokens then roll dice and move them to control an area. Token placement is crucial: some tokens allow you to roll twice or three times in ascending rarity. It's crucial because you can only move a token ONCE. Some of the scoring requires that your player token be the one right on the top. Also, your token gets removed from the game if two of one opponent's tokens fall on the same spot. There are different types of scoring: buildings, tombs, canals, walls and wooden paths.

The game has some nice elements: variable board, area control with dice rolling. But it can feel a little static without much really happening. Thankfully, it isn't too long to outstay its welcome.

A surprising amount of control in this dice-oriented game. Pretty light, but not braindead. The board is tough to follow (more than a quick glance is needed to tell where features are).

I treat this as a light fast dice affair, playing by feel rather than calc'ing things out, having fun trying to stomp back on people who have the temerity to land on top of you. In this vein, there's some decent fun; but it's for variety only, not a staple.

We are still working out the playing of Indus. It feels sometimes like Backgammon with the way you can remove other players from the board. It can be a bit fiddly with the little pieces too. But otherwise a good, quick game. It is a good idea to determine how one will score items before you start to avoid later game conflict as it is not always clear how these work.

Placement is strategic and there is some flexibility in movement that is dice driven, so there is a lot of luck. Re-rolls are available based on an interesting mechanic using stars on a player's pieces, which also is the basis for awarding victory points during captures.

The games is short with easy rules. The most complicated part of the game is scoring which is nicely aided with attractive scoring counters. The board looks nicer in play than in photos.

The puzzle-pieced board is composed of many interchangeable pieces so there is replay-ability.

I gave it a modest rating. It is a good family game and I wouldn't mind owning it.

Yes it has luck, but there's some interesting stuff going on. The board however is incredibly hard to look at, and the layout of the little scoring doodads makes no sense at all. Very hard to tell at a glance what you are fighting for, and the pieces can totally cover up paths and things. Certainly worth playing occassionally though.
