I usually don't rate expansion, but since the ones for BSG vary so greatly in quality, I'm making an exception.
Exodus is the expansion to get, and once I got it, I removed pegasus from the game, leaving in only cards that did not tie mechanically into that expansion.
Cylon fleet option is pure gold. This is what the series was all about in the episode "33", which was one of the best ones in my mind. Stress, preasure, and NEVER enough time to prepare decently. Lots more to do. Retrofit the mark VII:s, escort civilians to safety, take down the heavy raiders and try to keep their fighters at bay while they amass in numbers... great. Puredeadbrilliant. The new you are/are not a cylon cards are also brilliant, and the new system for drawing loyalty post execution works and keeps everybody on their toes.
Have not tried conflicted loyalties yet, but think i will like the NPC part of it, can't speak about the crossroads part yet, the perma-death option might be abit anti-climatic for the players it hits.
If you have BSG, GET THIS! MUST HAVE-EXPANSION!

This is better than the Pegasus expansion. The Cylon Fleet board is a perfect edition to the BSG game. The Ionian Nebula portion I need to play more to really see how I feel about it. After one player it may not be all that I hoped it would be, but I still have hope that it will be an essential edition to the game. The new skill cards are awesome, and the CAG title is a great edition as well. I will definitely be playing with at least half of the mechanics from this expansion from now on.

Yet to play - have high hopes for the Cylon Fleet option, should give the pilots more of a game plus I never liked the cylon attack cards, too random and no real feel of tension (plus scouting/Laura can put paid to them, how thematic is that?).

Not sure about the other stuff.

** Update - not played with Ion Nebula stuff, but the rest is all really good. Better than Pegasus expansion, but the humans have to be sharp to stand a chance, this expansion seems (at least in the few games I've played) to be pro-Cylon ... which is good, as Pegasus seemed to push things too much in favour of the humans.

*** Update, played with Ion Nebula - bit meh, certainly adds to the time which isn't so good. But Cylon fleet is pure genius. Now pilots have something do to all the time, and the 'scout, scout, scout, never see the cylons' strategy is killed dead, no bad thing IMHO. Unless I had newbies I'll always want to play BSG with this.

The Cylon Fleet Board is a terrific addition in my mind, and lends to a feeling of dread over the Cylon Attack Cards. While I wouldn't turn down a play with CAC instead of CFB, I definitely prefer the latter.

I've yet to play with Allies, or the Ionian Nebula, but love the new Loyalty cards, and huge influx in Crisis cards. While I have all the expansions, this is surely one not to miss.

If you are a fan of the base game, this is a must buy.

Excellent in every way. The expansion includes new cards for just about every aspect of the game, characters, ways to play, etc.

Whereas Pegasus was more a of sequel to the original game, this one can be added to the just the base game to make the player driven dynamics even stronger.

This expansion adds depth, multiple player options as to how the game will be played, tough decisions, game altering dynamics, even more intrigue, and just about everything you could want from an expansion to such an incredible game.

Let's examine the three options in some detail:

Conflicted Loyalties

This is pure perfection. Instead of creating a stack of 'You are not a Cylon' cards, you take the Final Five cards, and Personal Agenda cards and make a giant stack before the game begins. By doing this, you are creating a HUGE level of uncertainty. Now there will always be one extra card in the pile, and when people are executed a card from the 'You are not a cylon' deck is shuffled into the 'Loyalty' deck. There may not even be two cylons in play, and you can never be sure of anyones loyalty.

With some customization you could use both Pegasus and Exodus to create a a game experience that would be unmatched.

If using a sympathizer shuffle the two sympathizers together and randomly pull one. Do we need to get something in the red now? Maybe....maybe not.

For some seriously interesting decisions you could even shuffle one extra 'You are a cylon' into the 'You are not a Cylon' deck for unmatched paranoia.

Cylon Fleet

One word....tension. Adds the CAG title, which makes pilots even more interesting to play.

This option allows the players to experience the tension found in the episode 'Thirty Three'. When you know the fleet is coming, and you're scrambling to move the civ ships into a position to best absorb the damage, WHILE the heightened level of paranoia provided by the 'Conflicted Loyalties' cards are in play....your head just might explode.

It gives the cylons more options, and there never really are any dull moments when it comes to space combat.

Excellent option to use.

Ionian Nebula

This expansion is the cherry on top of the sundae.

This almost adds a euroesque feel to the game in many aspects. With the trauma tokens you're met with some tough decisions. You want to get rid of the ones that have a negative effect on you...but to do so as a human means creating a more volatile environment for the Galactica by seeding allies with Antagonist tokens, and as a cylon it means seeding allies with Benevolent tokens which is good for humanity....quite the conundrum.

What makes this even more interesting is that it completely simulate the feel of season 3. Season 3 was all about the humanity of the characters as they came to grips with the world as it would now be, and their role in it. It sank into the depths of human weakness and frailty, and exposed the selfishness and pain of many characters. This option recreates that by forcing the players to not only work with the Galactica in an attempt to try and achieve the overall team objective, but also forces the players to consider their own situation, and make decisions that are best for them.

Its beautiful....simply masterful when you consider how well it emulates the series. The players are working toward their overall objectives (finding Kobol/New Caprica/Ionian Nebula/Destroying Humanity) but are doing whats in their best interest as a character. As a human, when placing a negative trauma token on a newly placed ally, its abstractly representing you treating that character in some positive/negative way....which will then be reciprocated into the next person that comes across that ally. Awesome!

By mixing all three options into the game you create a living, breathing world where the players become their characters. Humans working together to achieve their overall goal but also working personally to ensure their Personal Agenda cards and eliminating trauma. Cylons trying to destroy Galactica and the human race, but also ensuring that they don't get boxed at games end.

This makes Battlestar Galactica even better than it already is. I've considered lowering the rating on all my other games just to make this series stand out as the epic giant that it truly is. And while I wouldn't go that far, I will say that owning all three expansions in the series makes this game infinitely expandable and customizable, deepens the depth of the game, increases the intrigue, and allows players to recreate and live a portion of the Battlestar Galactica world.

Perfect in every way. Makes the BSG 'game' a 'game system'.

The Cylon Fleet option seems biased towards the Cylons, which makes it nearly impossible to add Conflicted Loyalties too as the only remaining question is how will the Cylons win.

Also, Personal Goal loyalties have a much bigger effect than Final Five ones. Even worse, Final Five ones have almost zero effect.

More characters, definitely love new human Conflicted loyalties - Personal goals and especially Final Five. Cylon fleet option balances the game so much, making attacks regular and increasing pilots value, finally Ioninan Nebula seems a little overbalanced for Cylons but we enjoy playing it nonetheless.

This is what expansions should be like: it includes new cards and options with them, fixes issues that the main game had (Cylon attacks being too random, boring human loyalty cards), and a possibility to add a different aspect to the game.

Cylon Fleet Board fixes the main problem of the base game - clumped CACs won't matter any more!
Conflicted Loyalties makes it slightly easier for cylons to hide
Ionian Nebula brings all sort of minor characters out to play

CFB can be gamed if you're so inclined (here's a suggestion - don't!)
CFB makes the cylons far more likely to achieve a damage victory and far less likely to achieve any other kind

Adds great things to the base game, but note that the game changes and you need to change your play style (which is one extra reason why Exodus is great).

CFB, personal goals and final five, and new skill and crisis cards are normally always in play. Ionian Nebula with allies is only used periodically when playing with less than 5 people.

The Cylon fleet board is a welcome addition to the game, as are the new skill cards, destination deck, loyalty cards, characters, and the final five identity cards.

The Ionian Nebula is a bit odd... and we decided not to try it, but using just the fleet board and the new cards adds so much to the game, we see no real reason to just yet.

Allies add a lot of nice variety, but the token system feels weird. It works... just feels like something they tossed in and polished a bit. Though it does allow for some character turnover, which you don't see as much in the base game or Pegasus.

This is a much better expansion then Pegasus, even though the addition of the Pegasus itself is pretty great.

All in all, I think I like this one more then Pegasus. Recommend you use the base game plus the Pegasus board, the new cards, the new characters, the new loyalty cards, and the original Kobal destination while mixing the new locations into the deck. Makes for a fantastic experience.

Cylon Fleet game board, new loyalties (the Final Five) and Ionian Nebula with allies - those elements are always present in our games and add a lot of strategy and player interactions. They make some choices less obvious (looking at people's loyalties cards can be a risk now, trauma tokens and allies make you choose between your and the Fleet's fate). Also we much rather prefer constant threat from how the ships move between boards than drawing a random Crisis with Cylon Fleet activation. After playing for a while the latter seems too easy. Overall, a really great addition!

One note for Ionian Nebula - we play with the Mood Pool variant, so there's no player elimination in game and it adds more suspicion (there is a mood pool of tokens, not one token per ally, so it's not obvious anymore who added the bad token to the common pool). That's a much better variant of the standard Nebula.

Exodus adds 4 new characters: Tory, Anders, Gaeta, Cally. 2 are really great: Tory could be the best President, some people say she's overpowered, and I wouldn't agree, but her ability to draw any 2 Skill Cards whenever a Quorum card is played is really fantastic. Just remember - there isn't always time or a good moment to play cards from her hand, and the President often discards a lot of cards. In our plays that makes her powerful, but never really overpowered. Cally is great both for Humans and Cylons, being able to execute one player at her field, her hand is varied, which is a plus and a minus (she has lots of options, but smaller chance to draw what she needs), and she also has a really decent once per turn ability. Gaeta and Anders aren't really that useful compared to other characters you have. For Anders we use a popular house rule that his OPT ability is Movement, not Action, and that fixes him being completely useless. Gaeta would be ok, has a great card draw, but his negative of adding maximum 3 cards to tests, even though not that bad, still results in no one picking him in our group ever.

This is my favourite boardgame. With a traitor mechanism that fosters mistrust and suspicion amongst players, some of which are trying to work together, this game is wonderful in its semi-cooperative nature and the tension in creates in the fight not just against the game but also those trying to destroy you from within. That it well replicates the TV series is an added bonus.

Despite a sense of continuing despair and doom as resources ever dwindle, the game is never over as the humans persevere to snatch victory and the cylons look for the final blow. Human wins are always close and cheered, cylon wins never produce disgust at the game time wasted but with anticipation about how to next defeat the toasters.

Despite the numerous things that can be done in a turn and the various rules that govern the various aspects of the game, they are individually actually not too complex and with repeated plays, can be relatively straightforwardly learnt.

Obviously with my obsessive stats that I keep, I adore this game!

All stats include expansions

Lots of cool stuff in this one.

Conflicted Loyalties/Final Five cards are awesome. They really help cast more doubt on human players and even make you think twice before looking at someone's cards. It also nicely solves the problem of one player taking longer to read their loyalty cards when they're dealt, and it makes it okay to peek at your own cards during the game without instantly tipping your hand.

The Cylon Fleet Board is excellent and really helps keep the pressure on the fleet, plus it gives the pilots more to do. It does make handling the ships a little more fiddly, but the benefits more than outweigh that negative. (Sidenote: Even though you're supposed to remove all the Cylon Attack cards from the deck when using this board, I leave the Scar card in.)

I haven't used the Ionian Nebula/Ally/Crossroads stuff yet since it adds a little too much complexity for new players to handle, but if I ever manage to get a game with "veterans" going, it's getting added.

Exodus is definitely better than the Pegasus Expansion, but if you like the game you really do need to have them both.

The new Cylon fleet board is a must have in my opinion. It adds constant space pressure without being unbalanced. It really causes you to need to kill off Cylons rather than just jumping away and never seeing the ships again. Very thematic in my opinion. Not sure about the other parts of the expansion.
