Diplomacy for 3 works better than you might expect, indeed it has all the dark fascination of staring into the abyss. In the standard game you have a good chance of finding an ally, here you're locked in mortal combat with two other self-interested individuals who can be trusted about as far as they can be thrown. A balanced and mature variant.

Played once (by e-mail). Three is definitely not the best number to play Diplomacy, but this map is a valid and seemingly rather balanced one if you really want to play with this number.

An attempt to make a 3 player version of Diplomacy. I just don't think it really works with this game mechanic. But a interesting attempt none the less.

Just didn't do anything for me. However, I only gave it one shot. I should put it on the table another day and see how it pans out again. Although 3 people makes no diplomacy game...
